What to do Following Withdrawal from Class after UC Acceptance. PLEASE HELP

I was admitted into UC Irvine for Fall 2025 as a transfer student.

The Pasadena fires in January took a heavy toll on me and my family. We had several emergencies and as a result I am missing two conditions after being accepted to UCI:

I got a C in one of my major pre-reqs that required a B. While I met the overall cumulative GPA for the actual pre-req series, the conditions stipulate I needed a B in the actual class.

I also had to withdraw from one of my Spring courses, which will put me 1 credit below the 60 credits requirement. I am waitlisted for another class to try and make up the credit, but I am unsure as to if I will be able to be enrolled.

I have contacted UCI admissions, but they have not reached out.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and still gotten admitted? Please let me know what to do!

@gumbymom

You have already reached out the UCI admissions about your situation and it is really up to them to decide regarding your extenuating circumstances. Not meeting 2 of the conditions of admission requirements is definitely a problem and hopefully UCI will be understanding and lenient in your situation. If possible, I would call admissions and ask to speak to a Supervisor to follow up on your email. Phone: 949-824-6703

Best of luck and please update once you get an answer.

I have called UCI admissions at the provided number. Unfortunately, many of the staff picking up calls right now are not transfer counselors and simply direct me to reach out through the applicant portal, which I have done.

I believe all I can do now is wait for a response and see if they can offer an accommodation. Thank you.
