<p>Freshman S signed up for his Spring 2011 classes as soon as his sign up time came up. 3 of 5 classes needed for semester 2 in Aero/Mech Eng. had no sections available at all, and he checks several times a day. His advisor says to just wait to see if sections pop up on the course selection. All of his upcoming Fall 2011 classes have prerequisites, so he can’t just take something else from the next semester. There are no electives to take until his junior or senior year (when he will probably need a break from some heavy duty classes then). His advisor is the one advisor for all freshman students in this major. Does anyone have any advice on how he can proceed other than wait until the classes start and beg the prof?</p>
<p>Depending on his major and which classes he wants; he can fill out a Closed Section form and he can be added into a closed section; however the classes are limited this can apply for. </p>
<p>If he can’t do that; then he will probably just have to stalk ISIS until a section opens up. Nothing really is going to change for now; but during drop/add week there should be people dropping classes every so often; so he can try and find one during that time.</p>
<p>Also; if your son/daughter has friends with earlier start times; ask them if they can hold a classes for him next time he registers. I’ve had people do it for me and it’s save me alot of headache :).</p>
<p>“stalk ISIS” - thats how I got every class I needed and desired class period.</p>
<p>In case he doesn’t get the classes he needs, make sure that he gets some Gen-Ed backups.</p>
