What to do if the invitation says "no gifts"

PSA–if you’ve already bought something and it’s on an Amazon gift registry you can mark it as bought even though you bought it elsewhere. If someone has Amazon as the registry then I send it directly to their house (unless local),

If you want to bring flowers, bring them in a vase.
If you bring food even for a potluck do not expect to use my oven to heat it up or use my refrigerator to keep it cold. Assume both are fully occupied.
Or step in my kitchen unless asked.
You can bring chocolate but don’t expect me to share.
Wine always welcome! Put it over there with the others.

I’m guessing the “no gifts” for a baby shower is easier to ignore because it can actually be fun to shop for babies–it’s all cute! And for people who do enjoy crafty stuff–fun to make things.

The last baby shower I went to didn’t open gifts (which takes time) but brought gifts unwrapped ( time saver for me!) and they were all delightfully displayed on a table. So we got to see all the cute baby clothes etc. It was fun!
