What to Do If You Accidentally Sent Low Test Scores to Colleges

This student had scores automatically sent to colleges, but was disappointed in the test scores. Find out what The Dean advises. https://insights.collegeconfidential.com/accidentally-sent-act-scores

Not sure I agree with this. As noted, you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube, and sending another reminder that you had a lower score by asking them to ignore it just moves it to front of mind again. IME, telling someone “please ignore this negative data” does the opposite.

I agree. Most schools say they will only look at the highest score and disregard every other score. They know kids take the SAT/ACT multiple times and multiple scores are sent in. To bring it to their attention when they already plan on not counting it is just asking for trouble.

If your score is increasing over time, is it actually good to show them your progress?
Another solution might be to write in additional information about why did you got a bad score. Maybe write something that shows you character and tells them that you have learned something from failures?
