What to do if your university is closed?

So I’m just transferring to a new university and classes start Tuesday. I’ve been waiting on getting a registration number so I can enroll for my classes and move onto campus. I had orientation last thursday, where my advisor told me the school hadn’t yet issued me a registration number (Which they found odd) but told me not to worry because they’d call the appropriate office and email it to me that evening. So I’ve been waiting since thursday on this email that still hasn’t come. I planned on calling the campus today to see if I could just bother enough people to have the number given to me, but then I realized they would be closed because it’s a national holiday. If I’m not enrolled in my classes by tomorrow my housing contract will be terminated and I’ll pretty much be out of luck. So my question is: Are there usually any staff at all that stays at a school during holidays that could help me?

Staff will not be on many campuses, other thsn facilities maintenance or physical plant staff.

Your best bet is email. Many staff & faculty - self included - still access their campus email during breaks. Otherwise, call both offices first thing in the a.m. And get them to talk directly with each other, not using you as an intermediary, if possible. Have your counselor call housing to explain the delay.
