I don’t want to spend all of my productive time doing schoolwork; I also want to work on something that will impress potential co-op employers (I’m studying business and entertainment & arts management), but I’m not sure where to start. I’ve thought about teaching myself a language or writing something, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas?

Learning a language would be great! You also might want to take time to work out and really get in shape.

It takes a lot of determination and more than a little free time to learn a language by yourself. There are things like skype forum that facilitate direct communication and can sort of replace the classroom. I like the exercise suggestion, or any hobby that’s not addictive. There are likely a huge variety of student clubs for this. Keep in mind not everything you do has to be geared toward impressing others.

Look for an internship
