Hi guys :)

I paid my deposit last night and I’m confused as to what to do now. When do I sign up for classes? I’m an international student and know that I have to attend both orientation and NISSO, but there are so many different sessions… Also, when do I know my housing assignment?
Sorry if these questions seem stupid, but I’m a first generation college student :(

Thank you for taking the time to answer them :)

You sign up at orientation. Whats NISSO?

Housing assignment comes out during the summer (I estimate about August).
You just wait for orientation to sign up for classes. Just sit back and relax for now. Enjoy the last bit of high school, and try finding out what you’d be interested in doing at UCLA.

NISSO is the orientation for new international students
Since there are many different slots for orientation, does the one I choose affect which classes I’ll be able to get? (in terms of how quickly they fill up)

Yes, try to get the earliest orientation session. The orientation people will try to make you feel better by saying that they save some spots in classes for freshmen with later orientation sessions, but they don’t save enough.

Thanks for all your answers!
Aw man, it seems that international students can only pick from the last 3 sessions of orientation… :(
