Hey guys,
I am super lost right now. My ultimate goal is to get my med degree and be a physician, but for my undergrad I’m really not sure what to do.
You see, I love music. I definitely want to do something with it in college, but I just can’t decide what. I also feel as though I should major in something that will actually prepare me for the MCAT/med school acceptance/ med school itself (I’ve been looking at fields of biology and human health majors at the schools that offer it). Here’s what I’ve been considering:
- double major in music and whatever else I decide
- minor in music
- don’t major or minor in music, but still participate in ensembles
Double majoring would be ideal, but I’m not sure if I could handle the work load…I know majoring in music itself is a tremendous amount of work. Minoring would be the obvious choice, but from what I understand music minors aren’t eligible for music scholarships. And if I was a non major/ non minor I would feel like my talent has been kind of wasted because I didn’t develop it to its full potential. Also, I don’t want to only major in music (I know it doesn’t matter what you major in to get into med school).
So with that in mind, I would really appreciate any advice! What should I do? Thanks in advance
