What to do when retaking the SAT?

Hi.
After getting a 2200 and a 720 on the Math section, I am considering retaking the SAT after finishing with my subject tests. But I have already gone through the Blue book and two Barron’s and a Kaplan workbook that I borrowed from a friend. What can I do now? Haven’t I exhausted all realistic practice tests and all good prep material?
Thanks.

With a 2200, you probably don’t need much more preparation. If you really want the 2400, you may want to read strategies on how to maximize your efficiency for the test, or not make silly mistakes.

Then again, a 2200’s a great score, and a 2200 vs. a 2300 doesn’t make much difference (2400 is a different story though).

From the 2200s and up, you basically know most if not all the questions on the SAT except maybe 3 or 4 and possibly made 2-3 stupid mistakes. From here on out it’s best if you look through google or CC for any past SAT test releases and complete them to improve your score even higher.

Well, I had been scoring consistently around 2300 in my practice tests, so I was pretty unhappy with the score I got. I think I got too nervous.

Anyhow, I could use some advice that pinpoint to some specific study material, like some books or anything that would help.

Really if you’ve been getting 2300 on your practice SAT tests then you should be fine! The actual SAT test must have just been bad luck or nerves like you said or something.

But if you want to feel confidant in taking the upcoming SAT, I suggest the Barron’s 2400. It is reputed to be much harder than the SAT which is good because then you would have conditioned your mind to take harder but similar problems of SAT to prepare for a much easier test.

Use the blue book, don’t use any other company made test at this point, because they dont have the exact style questions that will be on the test.

Take a chill pill for a while.

If you seriously hit freak out mode, go online and search up links to previous years’ tests released by the CB and free practice tests that the CB publishes every year. Here’s a place to start: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/766525-official-sat-practice-booklets-past-current.html

Keywords such as “released SAT tests” “QAS” along with “collegeconfidential” usually lead you to more sources. However, if you can’t find it on CC, just search the first two suggestions by themselves and other websites might have some as well.
