What to do with $200 Apple Gift Card

We are getting a $200 Apple Gift Card from Charles Schwab. Any suggestions on what to do with it? We just got 4 iPhone 5s, but don’t tend to have other Apple products and bought the car chargers from a 3rd party vendor very inexpensively. The reason we got the gift card is because it was the best of the things they offered as a premium for making the deposit we made.

If we can’t figure out what to do with it, S will probably sell it for us on eBay or Amazon. Would love any great suggestions. We are a PC/Windows family, except for the iPhones. Thanks for your ideas.

Give it to me. ;)

I would use it toward an iPad.

We aren’t an Apple family either. Do you use iTunes? Would the gift card work there?

We may get an AirPrinter that also is a fax machine, to replace the bulky printer we have.

. . . except for the fact that there’s nothing you really want with it.

I would use it toward an ipad. We use ours constantly for surfing CC, recipes, and yesterday I figured out how to use the Kindle app to get electronic books from my public library.

I’ve heard good things about AppleTV

Buy me an iPod? Does any one in your family use an iPod, if not you or your DH might give them a try. I bought my DH one for Christmas one year, he had absolutely no interest and it turned into something he loves. I got one a few years later & use it much more than I thought.

It’s great for music, but also for downloading books (free from your library!)

Well, since none of our printers work with the iPhone, getting an AirPrinter that will also replace our huge, outdated fax machine might be a good thing. D used to use her iPod, but lost several along the way. Not sure if she still has or uses it, since she didn’t bring it home from college this break. Not sure about the iPad either, but something to contemplate. Think we have greater need for the printer than the iPad. Have some time to decide, since we haven’t gotten the card yet–still in CA, in transit.

can you use it on ITunes?

We have a printer that works from our iPad and iPhones. It’s great. That’s what would do.

From eHow website, it doesn’t appear that you can use Apple Gift Card to purchase iTunes.

An Apple gift card is essentially the opposite of an iTunes gift card, as it can be used in an Apple retail store or the online store to purchase iPods and other Apple products, but it can’t be used to purchase content for your iPod in the iTunes Store.

I second the recommendation for Apple TV - especially if you use netflix.

I bought four of these for gifts. They are wireless, fantastic, loud, light weight and can be used with any apple product(IPhone) or with your Windows computer

There are other speakers (Bose etc) that you can buy with your card as well.

We watch TV perhaps a few times/month and do not have NetFlix, Hulu or other service. We have iPhone 5s, and those are not listed as compatible with the speaker you listed above.

Roku is better than apple TV–look at the differences before you jump (although free is good…). I’d head toward an iPod.
