What to do with FAFSA after college acceptance

Okay, so recently I received an email from Federal Student Aid Support that I have to update FAFSA in which school I’m actually going to. Can someone help me, as I can’t find anywhere to do this. Am I supposed to just delete/remove all the other schools that I added back in the fall? Is there somewhere else to do this? Or do I just leave everything as is?

If the FAFSA asked you to update for the school you’re attending, head over to the website and remove the other schools. Then, add the one you’re going to. There is an option to edit your FAFSA on the home page.

Did you NOT submit you FAFSA to the school you are planning to attend?

Did this email come from FAFSA.gov?

Since when do you have to inform the FAFSA of the actual college you are attending? Something doesn’t sound right to me!

This seems Phishy. what email address did this come from? Did they tell you to log into your FAFSA account, or did they suggest you respond via a link in the email? I would contact the financial aid office of your school and ask them how to proceed, they should know what you need to do next.

I don’t think it’s a red flag, probably just a mistaken support person (got the email from Federal Student Aid). I didn’t just get the email out of nowhere, I asked a question about loan disclosure being the wrong school (I was originally committed to go to Northeastern, but I was accepted to and will attend Michigan). She asked if I notified FAFSA which school I was going to and to contact Northeastern to zero out the loans. I was confused about the FAFSA part… is it necessary to remove all the other colleges? Or is it fine if I just leave it?

Have you fully withdrawn from NEU? Everything including enrollment and housing…and financial aid??

You need to contact the financial aid office at Northeastern, to make sure they know you won’t be attending, so they can cancel any aid they have set up. You also need to contact the Financial Aid office at Michigan to make sure they have everything set up properly on their end, so your aid will be processed in time to pay your bills when due. The appropriate people in those two offices should be able to take care of everything that needs to be done.

Yes, I just need them to zero out the loans (already contacted them about it). @thumper1
