I’m a bit stuck here and I’d love some perspective.

So I was waitlisted at my top choice, but got into another really great school.

The school I got into is offering me a scholarship that not only covers my tuition while I’m there but will also pay for college for me given that I go to a college that’s a part of their program(they’re really good, Ivy League, Stanford, MIT, Georgetown and more ).

The school I’m waitlisted at will probably pay for my tuition(FA) at their school but not go any further than that, given that I’d get pulled of the waitlist.

Maybe this is an obvious choice but I’m not entirely sure what to do. The school that waitlisted me is in recent years regarded with a little more prestige than the other, maybe better known to college AO’s. It’s also my first choice. But I do really like the school that accepted me and that’s probably where I’ll go, I´d just like to hear some opinions on it.

I’ve never heard of a high school paying for college. Is this an independent 3rd party program that offers aid for both?

In any case, if the schools are at all close in their offerings, I would suggest that you think carefully about your family’s financial situation and how helpful it could be to not have to worry about paying for college. Eight years of top education for free sounds pretty enticing!

Go to the school which accepted you, which is covering tuition, and maybe even college tuition.

It’s a 3rd party program.

Congratulations, that’s amazing! :)

You’re right–the choice IS obvious. School and college? In this case, the bird in the hand definitely beats out the bird in the bush. Send them a really, really nice thank you note today and be done with it. :)

Ah! You must be a Davis Scholar! Congrats! In this case you have TWO birds in hand. Do what cmama says and don’t look back. WL with FA is an extreme long shot.

Thank you all. And yes I will be accepting this awesome offer. I really like the school and I think it’s a good match for me :)
