So i recently have been dismissed judicially from Johnson and wales university about a month ago and I am looking to get back into school. My GPA is at a 2.86 and i have completed one full year and one tri mester before i was dismissed. I have contacted JWU and asked them if it would appear on my transcript and they said it would not. When applying to other schools should lie about being dismissed and take my chances??. Suggestions pleasseeee

I suggest that you attend a community college or another of the state colleges local to you to get your grade point average up. That coupled with your dismissal will not get you into UMass/Amherst on a transfer. check out UMass/dartmouth as well. I am not stating this to be cold, just factual.

How did you get a 2.86 at JWU… Best of luck though.

JWU isn’t a particularly strong uni, and a 2.86 from there isn’t all that impressive. I’m not sure that you’d be able to transfer into UMass Amherst, even without your judicial issue.

Another poster suggested that you consider going to community college. That really is an option. If you do well there, and keep out of trouble, you’ll be able to apply to a strong university and you may get in - especially if some time passes between your dismissal from JWU and when you apply for the transfer.

I know that JWU said that the issue won’t appear on your transcript. But get a copy of your transcript and see for yourself before you make decisions on next steps.
