what to do

okay i was selected for verification, long story short my efc went from 1k to 7k

so i pretty much have 2 options

take out loans

or go to a community college and redo my fafsa with a different parent(possibly get a lower efc)

i am leaning towards going to CC, maybe i could actually get a good GPA and go to UT which was my top choice this year(got CAPD).

so far only one of my schools have finished verifying my fafsa, so my efc is only 7k at 1 school right now, hopefully my other options dont find any errors.

Or should i just enlist in the army?(airforce, navy or marines)

i didn’t get into UT, so i’m going to texas state.
you should do that!!

or st. edwards (that was my other choice too)

guess i might just take out the loans

Texas State is a pretty cool school

Uh enlisting in the military’s a pretty serious decision. Not to sound patronizing.

Also, you’re supposed to do your FAFSA with the parent you spend the most time with. Yeah you can break the rules and hope you get away with it, but if you get verified/audited/whatever then that’s gonna be a pain.

How much would you take out in loans?

i got verified this year, and as far as loans possibly around 10-13k (not sure yet though)

but their is still a possibility i wont have to take out any, hopefully i dont

So wait you lied on the fafsa???

na my pops did something wrong, just a common mistake.

O ok. Cause if you lie on the fafsa you will be in big trouble with the gov.

In that case community college for a year its very cheap. I go to community college now and I only pay about $750 a semester full time. However, I have a scholarship and I got some money from the gov.

i am thinking about just going straight to a 4 year, you have to spend money to make money you know

Not on undergrad though. There are plenty of top colleges that are recession friendly and also notable.

But if you want to rack up loans so early then go ahead. But if you want to go to grad school you will never finish paying off student loans.

good point, i do want to go to Law school
