What to expect?...

Hi all,
I am planning on applying to a few colleges in the fall and was wondering about college rigor or coursework…
I am an international student and finished high school a few years back… I guess I am most concerned about the math. I want to do pre-med and am not great in math (lost a lot of time in high school and forgot a lot of what I did know) but I just want to know what to expect. Is the math level very high? Would you say basic knowledge such as SAT I prep would be enough to get me started?
(I’m not aware of HS math level so I don’t know what colleges are expecting)

Thanks for the help!

The highest level Math class my High School used to offer was AP Calc. You should be fine if you’re from Europe, I hear they teach this in Middle School over there.

For medical school you need Calculus 1 and 2.

If you haven’t done pre-calculus it’s a good idea to do that first.

A lot of schools have a math placement test that will put you in the level you are ready for. Just be prepared to go until you finish calc 2.

If I remember correctly the SAT’s don’t include pre-calculus, just everything before.

Thank you both.
Close… I am from the Middle East.
I know some of pre-calc from what I had to do in high school so maybe I could take a course to complete the rest before I move.

So if it is not expected of everyone to have the same knowledge to start with, can I assume that starting classes will not jump right in to higher level material but get everyone to the same point first?
