What to put down for "Alumni Affiliations"

<p>When colleges ask for alumni affiliations is it strictly family members?</p>

<p>For example, if I work in a professor’s lab can I put him down as an affiliate?
Or if I have been working w/ a graduate student, can I put them down?
Or if a family friend attended/works there, can i put them down?</p>

<p>Also, if my dad used to work at the graduate school (as an affiliate), can I put him down? If so, do I just leave the year/degree spots blank?</p>

<p>Or, if my dad did his medical residency at the medical school, can I put him down?</p>

<p>I know these are really lame reasons, but I here alumni affiliation can really help.</p>

<p>It means did your parents or siblings attend the school as a degree candidate. Your dad’s residency is the only one I’d list of the items you posted.</p>
