What To Study

Hi. I am currently 15 years old. I live in the Puerto Rico (Caribbean). I study in one of the top private school (Robinson School) and very expensive school (over 1k per month). I will be moving to Texas (Katy, Houston) when I finish my school year this May (while US school finish in June). I will be going to a public school (Seven Lakes High School). Not sure what grade I am going to be since the school system is different from my current school. I am currently in 9th grade but I heard that if someone moves from the US to Puerto Rico, they are lowered by one grade. Maybe I’ll skip a grade in the US. I will like to know what will I need to do to enter the school (by my current school grades, a entrance test, etc…). I heard that in the US the 10th grade test score counts for college while in here it is 9th grade.

But the real purpose I register here was to help me choose what I want to study. This is a question that most high school students struggle or ask. I will like to know if there is a website or someone that can help me.

How old are you? People born between Sept 1992 and Aug 1993 will generally be in USA 10th grade next year.

If you’re going to be in 10th grade next year you don’t need
to start worrying about focus study areas yet. Just try out a lot of things at your new school and keep practicing English.

I am 15 years old (born in December 16, 1992). What I don’t need?

I know 3 languages (Spanish, Chinese, English) so it is hard to practice each language.

I just want to start getting certification for my application and to start in a good paying job.

Sounds like HS in mainland USA will be a great opportunity for you. I wish I could study abroad sometime. ^_^

While you’re here just do your best in academics to maintain a high GPA, do extracurricular activities that you like and try to explore lots of areas.

Like what kind of Extracurrcular activities?

I will explore when I get my driver’s license
