One of the funniest I ever saw was a guy dressed as a flasher (I’d have to describe the costume.) We used to get invited to a party in some part of Hollywood where lots of guests pushed the line.
How about a couple going as the Pope and Kim Davis.

Love that idea! There will be several same sex couples at the party and I am sure that would go over big.
one partner wears a large cardboard cut out lightning bolt, painted bright yellow, anything else imaginative to be “lightning”. the other partner makes themselves up to look singed or scorched…soot smeared nose, cheeks, t-shirt,hair teased so it’s standing up, etc… “Lightning” and “Struck by Lightning”.
