What type of ECs needed

I have heard that Harvard tends to look for specific EC’s that the applicant is passionate about. I have done some ECs like Science Olympiad, Math Comp, Ac. Comp, NHS, volunteering and South Asian Culture Club. However, my biggest passion is for Tae kwon do. I am a first-degree black belt and also a Junior instructor. I have participated in demo teams and gone to a ton of competitions (but I there is no room for me to list all the regionals) including an 2 A-grade tournaments earning 1st in Forms and 2nd in Weapons, and have also earned State Championship for PA in Forms and Weapons categories. Is this enough to catch their attention?

PS: I am an international South Asian student graduating from a U.S. high school if that helps any one.

It can be if you are particularly accomplished. Like other schools, Harvard wants to fill its various ECs and see them thrive. Check out Harvard’s tae kwon do group: [Harvard Taekwondo](http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~htkd/)
Of course, you have to meet all the other criteria for admittance. Good luck.

What would be your best advise to an international student applying to an ivy like Harvard or columbia???

Please help!!!

I would ask your local guidance counselor . They can help you more .
