I WOuld guess that they admitted more because they will lose more. EA is a great option but it also encourages kids who wouldn’t necessarily apply to give it a whirl. Some families use it as a confidence builder or a way to lesson the tension before the schools higher on their list come out. It would be interesting to see the statistics on which group is more likely to commit… EA or RD.
