For me, it’s always something small and simple, but that I use all the time.
The year we got a hot tub, my favorite purchase was a Tervis Tumbler. This year we got a new car and my favorite purchase(s) were a couple of things that keep my kitchen organized and make packing lunches (I’m a teacher) easier.
I also decided to clean up my “lunch prep” cabinet and ordered these two items. I love that instead of my wraps and bags taking up a whole cabinet, they now fit nicely on about a 1/3 of a shelf so that all of my tupperware can be stored in there as well. It’s easy to pull out the entire box, have any wrap or bag I need, and not worry about knocking everything over and having to get everything back together.
Mine is a collection of themed purchases: my intro Pickleball class (4 nights, equipment provided… $40) & enrollment in the suggested local nonprofit PB association ($25 - includes free drill sessions) & racket/balls (about $50?). I’ve had so much fun learning something new and meeting dozens of new people… most of them cheerful retired ladies. I play a lot with some overlapping core groups (outdoors and indoors/fees)… laugh so much!
I guess my air fryer, and the red shopping cart I posted about. I found a lot of great stuff left for garbage in my apartment building and on the street or in local garage/street sales for less than $5.
The first thing that came to mind was getting a hotel room the night before we closed on my mom’s house rather than spending the night at my sister’s house. Creating a bit of separation for my peace of mind was great.
Ohhh, my ember coffee cup is amazing. What a stupid expensive purchase for a stinking coffee cup but I have a cup of perfectly warmed coffee now.
But my favorite purchase was the hotel room we had at the end of the destination wedding on an island reached by ferry.
We were going to have to take the 10 am ferry for a 5 pm flight. Since we had spent 3.5 hours at the beginning of the trip at the airport waiting on the ferry, which we had missed by 15 minutes.
Spending the night on the actual island we were flying out of was glorious. We drank cocktails, we lazed in the air conditioning. We walked the resort. Had a late checkout and got to the airport at a reasonable time.
It was glorious! Best $200 I’ve spent in a long time.
The ember is stupid expensive. I bought mine on eBay for much less.
I have the 10 oz and it’s a little small, I would buy the 14 oz again. I gave my son in law the travel mug.
I’m pretty sure I looked for a while and mine was around $30 on eBay. I think you can find the 14 oz for around $50. The ones I’ve bought are NWT, mine has a company name on it. I don’t mind.
