Maybe try something a little classy just in case you have a formal event. Personally I enjoy my Seiko watches, but there is a lot to choose from and its all a personal preferance. Don’t skimp on quality though. Try your local watch/clock store.

In my opinion, analog > digital, also analog is timeless whereas G-Shock (digital) are kinda “in”

G-shocks make you look like a high school kid in my opinion. I’m all for wearing watches (they are a great addition and they ARE in style), but get something that is more refined and grown man to show who you really are. It’s about what looks good on your wrist, and try a few out.

Just because it’s in style, doesn’t mean it’s good. Snapback hats are in style, but they look ridiculous.

Leather strap and analog. G-Shocks are ugly and overrated.

I have a $20 Timex Ironman watch and like it, [this one](http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Ironman-10-Lap-Digital-T5K224/dp/B001BXTZ56) I think.

A watch is actually very useful for me because I spend a lot of time outdoors and it isn’t always convenient to carry or check my phone.

The only watches I see anyone around the age of 18 wearing these days is Nixon watches? They’re usually pretty cheap (80 bucks) and students wear them for style more than functionality.

G-shocks are popular everywhere, not just students or young people, because they’re insanely rugged, multifunctioned, and reasonably priced. Military guys don’t wear titanium analog watches which can be taken to 10000 ft underwater, they wear a g-shock.

I wore a timex most years but recently moved over to a semi-expensive (<$500) analog. I had an itch for a mechanical movement.

the military also wears cargo pants, so I’m hoping you’re not one of the anti-cargo types

Watches are and always have been in style. The type of watch you buy is kind of like the clothes or the jewlery you wear. Some types are really only for kids or high school students and some are for men. Here are the two watches I own:

[Amazon.com: Citizen Men’s BM8452-99P Eco-Drive Flexible Band Gold-Tone Watch: 180: Watches](http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8452-99P-Eco-Drive-Flexible-Gold-Tone/dp/B001QFYKQ8/ref=sr_1_3?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1314296379&sr=1-3)

[FOSSIL Watches Sport Watches:Mens Three Hand White Dial Watch AM4116](<a href=“Fossil USA - Watches, Handbags, Jewelry & Accessories”>Fossil USA - Watches, Handbags, Jewelry & Accessories)

Both are very nice and can be used on a regular day or a formal occasion. G-Shocks are really popular right now, but i think it depends on the color you get. Again, some of them look like they’re strictly for high schoolers in my opinion. In the end however just get whatever watch you personally like and don’t worry about what other people think of it. LOL, I see people with power ranger or disney booksbags all the time and nobody seems to care.

Just go to your local American Apparel shop and pick out an inexpensive watch for starters. Or go buy a clean affordable yet Seiko, Timex, Nixon, etc. . .

As long as the watch is a clean design and doesn’t look too fancy, the watch will compliment well with any outfit you may wear. Just my two cents.

I am still rocking my Fossil from a few years ago. Nice watch.

When I graduate I hope to get a gold “Michigan” watch, like my dad got from Cincinnati
