october SAT essay topic-------->please
your examples------------------>please

by the way,how many essay topics are given in 1 question?

the oct sat topic i had was about actions,not words, revealing one’s true attitudes and intentions~
i used rosa parks and beowulf~
idk wat u mean by how many topics are given in 1 q, section 1 is the essay,only 1 prompt.

thank you very much, Ren.my problem is that i can’t reason very well. can u please explain from what point of view u proved ur examples logical…what were ur logics…
i heard that there are four topics given in 1 SAT…although only 1 topic in 1 que paper…

hm for example,i wrote a paragraph about rosa parks and her actions how she refused to give up the seat. then at the end of the paragraph, i restated my thesis that her actions,not her words, revealed who she really is and brought about change~~ im not a good essay writer either~~

other 3 topics? any1? please help…

what about beowulf,Ren?care to explain,please? you can’t be as bad as me…i tried for 30 minutes and i failed to come up with any idea :(

nymphetamine - you can see and download Oct 4 essay questions by going to the College Board site. Look for October SAT Essay prompts.

My questions was: Is compromise always the best way to resolve a conflict?
I said no compromise is not always the best way to resolve a conflict. I used Martin Luther, William Lloyd Garrison and Rosa Parks as my three examples. I felt really good about my essay.

Here are the 2 other questions from the CB website:

Are decisions made quickly just as good as decisions made slowly and carefully?
Can a group of people function effectively without someone being in charge?

Ren - I’m confused. Your topic does not seem to be one of the three released by the CB. Are you an international student?

yep he is… and me too… We got that topic.

I got topic 1, about the compromise.
I used Grapes of Wrath (how compromising to settle in California only led to rebellion)
I used Civil War America (how freeing slavery only led tot he creation of KKK and how they tortured the blacks.)
I used Their Eyes Were Seeing God. (How Janie compromised with her grandma to marry Logan, but her life only got worse when she found out that Logan only thought she was good enough to work the fields.)

im not an international…i live in guam, its one of the us territories…which happens to be in the east coast, meaning i was one of the earliest test takers…

oh ya my bad :D

thank u al;it will be good to get more responses

My essay was pretty terrible rofl. I had one about whether its good to make quick decisions or slow decisions. I said quick decisions.

My two examples were Rosa Parks (quick decision to sit in front starts nationwide movement - yea, pretty stupid) and FDR (quick decision to start WWII after Japanese lied to them about peace and stuff - also pretty stupid).

anhtimmy- really nice examples, excpt is their eyes were watching god

lol @ their eyes were seeing god

I got the compromise one, and I used three examples that went completely against compromise… oh yeah the colonist declaring independence from England, creationist vs. evolutionist, and ptolemaic vs. copernicus’s view of the rotating universe.

I had the compromise one and argued that compromise is not always the best way to resolve conflict.

I used three examples: A personal one (4th grade Peer Leader), Beowulf example, and Physicians+FDA conflict

I had the compromise essay and argued against compromise using pre-WWII appeasement and the American Revolution as examples.

Also, is it acceptable to support both sides of the argument? That’s what a friend of mine did.

i, unlike most of you, had the decision one.

please…more examples to use for these topics
