How to throw away your future. I know at least one of these boys was all set with a good job for after graduation. I question whether this was a 'roid rage situation. The wrestlers have a history of brawls. It just makes me sad and sick.

In trying to find the story of the suicide at Penn, I found the one above and another about the SECOND rape this semester at a frat party at Penn. There was also a story about the sentencing of a former professor for porn.

A few years back, a few kids who allegedly belonged to something called the Owl Club tried to set a visiting student on fire while he was sleeping. (His crime? He was wearing clothing with a Princeton logo on it.)

I don’t mean to dump on UPenn. It’s just a reminder that being a student at a top school doesn’t guarantee a good character or even common sense.

It sure doesn’t. I am particularly concerned about the culture that develops in some of the athletic teams- even (or perhaps especially?) at these top schools. This is not the first serious fight involving Penn wrestlers. I actually DO suspect steroid use. There are ways to time things to almost ensure that you avoid detection. A former CC poster has a son who went to an Ivy as an athlete (different sport) and quit the team before the season even started because the culture involved significant drug use and aggressive behavior.
