What will a 3.6 GPA and a 30-33 ACT score get you at Auburn?

I am currently a HS junior and am planning on majoring in Chemical Engineering. Auburn seems to be the best school offering Chemical Engineering for the price, aside from Bama. I was wondering what type of scholarships I would be likely to get for a 3.6GPA and a 30-33 ACT score. I know that Alabama offers a full ride for a 30ACT and 3.4 GPA.
Thanks!

Wow if UA is offering you a full ride (really?) with a 3.4 GPA and 30 ACT - GO FOR IT… You’re not going to find that at Auburn. Although they do have good scholarships you will need a minimum 3.5 GPA. Didn’t know UA gave full rides?

Here’s a link to AU’s freshman scholarships - if you are OOS pick non-resident.

Alabama sis not a “full ride”. It’s full tuition and that is just if you are an engineering major with those stats. I think Auburns would be about 9k

Ah thank you for clearing that up!

threeofthree, the link you gave me are of competitive scholarships not automatic right?

Pretty sure the Freshman scholarships are automatic - you may have to fill out paperwork but I think if you have the stats you get the the $'s. The Department scholarships are competitive and I don’t know if the give many or any to Freshman.

I’m sure they are auto because they start sending you the scholarship info spring junior year or summer before senior year. We weren’t considering AU because of cost until they started sending us the scholarship info - son didn’t compete for anything just had to have the #'s. Read thru them - if you are OOS and have a 3.6 and 33 ACT you will get the Presidential - $64k over 4 years plus $1k tech stipend for freshman fall semester. Not as good as BAMA but you are going to Auburn!

Are you in-state or out?

Keep in mind that sometimes you get what you pay for… I am a hiring manager for a fortune 500 company who hires primarily just engineers. We recruit at Auburn (Top 50 Engr school in US) but not at Bama (#130+). Not that Bama doesnt have good business, law, other. Just not solid in engineering/technical. That is Auburns model…

Thanks! I’m in-state.

If you’re instate, Alabama and Auburn offers nearly identical scholarships, though neither of them are considered ‘full ride’ - they are ‘full tuition’.

With a 3.5 and a 30-36, Alabama will give you a full tuition scholarship.

With a 3.5 and a 30-31, Auburn will give you a full tuition scholarship.

With a 3.5 and a 32-36, Auburn will give you a full tuition scholarship plus a technology stipend.

^^ Those are automatic scholarships, provided you apply and are accepted to AU/UA by December.

There are also Elite scholarships for both which are competitive, that would put you at a full ride if you got them:

For Alabama’s, you have to have a 32/3.8, be accepted to the Honors College, and fill out an application. This scholarship gives you an extra $8,500/year and an iPad.

For Auburn, there are a set of Elite scholarships for which you generally have to have a 34/3.5 and complete an application. These range from $5,000-10,000/year.

And then there are also smaller general and departmental scholarships for both.

Thank you so much!
