I am a high school student and I am interested in attending wharton assuming I get in what options will the degree give me? I live in Texas so the alternative would be to go to McCombs and then later an MBA, but if I get a bachelor’s from Wharton will i be able to get jobs in Texas and would I still need to get an MBA? Basically what doors would a Wharton degree offer, besides I-banking?

To be vague, the benefit of going to a very prestigious school is not that it necessarily opens doors, but that no doors are closed from the start of your freshmen year. However, how many of those doors stay open is dependent upon how many career events you are willing to go to, and if you keep a good GPA.

That was really well put.

not necessarily career events though, sure those are great, but so many nowadays land jobs through people they socialize with, and the majority of people @ a school like Wharton have a golden path of success laid down for them due to legacy. “It’s now what you know, it’s who you know.” It’s crazy how different the path each person takes after college is, socializing and keeping in touch with those students, who mostly come from predominately wealthy families can really help you into making the big bucks.

You probably won’t believe me, but I once saw a Wharton degree walk across a lake and heal the wing of a wounded swan.

Liar.

A Wharton degree wouldn’t walk… it would fly, and first class at that.
