What will DI signing do to DIII recruiting?

Son is on the high radar of two/three really good CLA DIII schools, and I think their interest is either going to increase or go nonexistent after Feb 2 (isn 't that the signing day?).

For those of you who have any experience with DIII football, I would love to better understand what’s on the horizon for those kids who didn’t go ED or EA with any school. How does that trickle down thing go or does it not have any affect? Do potential middling DI kids leave DIII coaches kinda hanging?

Truth is, I think my son was thinking the school’s interest might make the decision for him as far as playing football, but now I am thinking that come Monday the choice might be back in S’s court but if it is, it will also be a window that will quickly close. So I am hoping for some good insight here.

It was my experience w/ S1 that D2/D3 recruiting actually picked up a bit after D1 signing day.

The borderline D1 kids who do not land a berth are then actively sought after.

Good luck to you and S…

Just so you know, Letter of Intent is Feb. 4, Wednesday, not monday. I would think D-3 recruiting would pick up after that, since the pool of available players will have shrunk.

Yes, signing period starts Wednesday, Feb, 4, but some kids sign later that week.
