<p>I had always enjoyed the idea of studying the nature in the interactions of electrons and the exchanging of charges between molecules in the Chemistry course. However it also proved quite challenging. When observing these kinds of interactions, more often than not, we must work indirectly to reach a conclusion. For example, if I were to try to discover the identity of an unknown element, lets say it is Barium Sulfate, there is no direct tool I could use to discover that. I would need to use multiple techniques to come to this conclusion and there are countless techniques I could choose from. For this example lets say Ive chosen to do a flame test and a solubility test. The flame test tells the distinct flame color of the cation, which is Barium in this case. The yellow/green color of the flame hints to me that barium would be an element in my compound. So now that I know my first half of the my compound I need to find the other so I will do a solubility test because knowing if it is soluble or not in water will greatly diminish the possibilities or give me my answer. In water Barium sulfate is a thick white precipitate, and this is a clear sign of Sulfate in my chemical. I have finally discovered my chemical to be barium sulfate. Chemistry was challenging because it was a mixture of theory, logic, knowledge and actually putting all of that to hands-on practice in labs. However challenging, this combination has enhanced my learning experience. It has made me analytical, intuitive, creative, as well as self-reliant. </p>
