<p>I will be a freshman in college in the fall. I am interested in economics, history, Spanish, political science, and international trade. I’m thinking about majoring in economics, as it will probably give me the best job options after college. I got a 5 on the AP Spanish test and I feel that I will be able to speak Spanish fluently in a few years. I might decide to take up Portugese after that because of how similar it is to Spanish and also because I would like to learn it. Anyone know any careers that would suit my interests?</p>

<p>I have a very dear friend (friendship of over 30 years) who is a petroleum economist. He travels the world -mostly the Middle East and Latin America and has been based in the US, the UK and the Far East. His interests lie in business and international trade. He happens to speak Spanish as that is his native language, English is his second.<br>
You might want to look into this area of work.

<p>Definitely try to pursue your interests, but as they all say, try some new things and take some new subjects in college and see if there’s anything else that interests you. Since you’re interested in political science, economics, and international trade, you might want to consider law/business school and go for a JD-MBA (joint law-business master’s degree) and integrate your Spanish-speaking ability by working directly with a Spanish-speaking country or the like.
