Wow! If I had any spare money, your art would be top of my list to buy!
Plus, think of how many steps you would get in each day.
I get at leave 8 of my 10K by the time I leave work. If I found a less active job, I’d just have to work out more when I got home.
I look at this question a few different ways.
If I could see the future when I first went to college and acquired a completely different skill set, I would love to go into packaging. As someone cutting down on plastic use, I see this as a career with so much potential.
If I wanted to capitalize on something that just comes naturally and everyone says I have a talent for, it would be something along the lines of matchmaking. Whether it be people, businesses, or ideas, I have a knack for remembering the small details. I can talk to someone for 15 minutes and somehow draw out a vast number of small details that I will remember forever. I can always match people up with either the information they need or the people they need to talk to. An offshoot of this would be to become a profiler or a PI.
A scenario that fits with my current professional skillset would be to become a special education advocate. I have the skills, but I just don’t enjoy conflict. I do use my talents (see above) to help friends understand their rights, help them refine what they are asking for, and match their kids to the appropriate programs. I just leave the fighting to the “professional” advocates.
I think I’d love certain aspects of being a high school or college consultant, but would want to work with a very specific clientele. (Not affluent kids looking for status schools, but kids with specific educational needs looking for the right fit). A friend is trying to get me to join her in a similar position, but I’m just not ready to give up my current job (love the job, frustrated with administration). I’m also not ready to give up my 20-minute backroad commute for an hour-long commute into the city (although I would only be required to be in the office a few days a week).
A Jane of all trades, master of none. But lol, that was my career and is my life already.
I think that I’m adding sideline reporter to my work wishlist.
If I could turn back time, I would want to be a producer like Holly Hunter in Broadcast News. For a future profession - if this is even a profession - have a small barn with a few Shetland ponies and teach young children how to ride and care for the ponies.
Volunteer at your local Pony Club!!
OK, here’s another job that I would like:
Handler for the “Beagle Brigade”
