What would help my chances more?

The USNCO test is coming up this Sunday, and if by chance I qualify for the IChO preparation camp I would miss my opportunity to retake the SAT and take the ACT. I would also miss ARML.

I got a 2220 on my SAT the first time (690CR 780M 750W). It’s not a superb score but it’s decent. I feel like I can improve to get my score to 2300+ this time around, but I have a dilemma. If I have the opportunity to go to the camp, should I go? Only 20 people get to go, but I would be missing 2 standardized tests as well as a math competition.

What do you guys think I should do? The school I would like to go to is MIT. Would a 2220 be enough? And how much will my chances increase if I have the IChO preparation camp as an extra thing. This is on the off chance that I do qualify, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

I am leaning toward going to the camp, but I guess I am willing to sacrifice that if I really need to do better on SAT’s. There is always next year for the camp. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I say raise your verbal score to 700 if you want to get into MIT. 2200+ is good for MIT because they don’t emphasize TOO much on SAT’s, mostly on how much creativity and innovation and work ethic you have in the Maths and Sciences. Taking the ACT is a good idea too since it has science sections.

Forget about the camp for now.

I would go to that camp next year, do retake SATS this year. It’s more important.
