I found out yesterday that I got accepted to University of Florida (go gators?) though with Florida’s top 5% rule, that was not a surprise. I never expected myself to choose UF over any other school (finances aside) but with so many of my peers so excited about it and talking about it, I feel like I would miss out on so much by passing up this opportunity for another school.

I haven’t been accepted (Yet crosses fingers) but I have applied to Lehigh, Rice, and Cornell also. I feel like I would be missing out on that GatorNation feel (Gator for life is basically the main selling point the school uses) the huge fun party scene, the chance to have some familiar faces in a crowd so large, the strong school spirit, football games, face paint, Gainesville. It’s all something I don’t know if I am willing to give up.

My question is, are there the same strong community ties with my other schools as with UF? Do any of them compare when it comes to the social scene? And would you prefer any of the locations (Bethlehem/Philly, Houston, Ithaca) over Gainesville?
