Hello, what would the schedule of a student transferring to a university be like if they intend to major in computer science? What are the chances the student could graduate in two years?
I graduated from community college in 2 years, with an AS in math.
I transferred to a local university and graduated 2 years later, as a Math major in the School of Education. I had NY State certification to teach high school math, and a signed job offer.
As to “the chances”-- they depend totally on the kid.
If he/she is going to community college-- or ANY college-- because working is the only alternative, the odds are good that those first two years won’t show enough maturity to see the kid through to a Bachelor’s Degree in 4 years. But there are so many other reasons for attending Community College-- finances is a BIG one!!!
It’s about the student, not the school he or she chooses to attend.
It depends on the courses needed by your target schools and what is offered at your community college.
Depends on how many credits you currently have and how many credits you need in order to get your bachelors which can range from 120-124 credits, but I promise you that you’ll be taking 5-6 classes a semester. If not you’ll probably be there for an extra semester or two.
