Bump - please help

They’re on the same app…so, you can just apply to them all.

If I had to make choices, I would say, for engineering:

Ok thank you very much. The reason I ask is I can only apply to 4 and have already chosen 3.

^ Depends on your stats…Santa Barbara is gonna be more competitive. I wouldn’t worry about applying to Merced. If you don’t get into a UC of your choice, Merced is often offered as a backup.

Which type of engineering are you interested in?

In the ABET accreditation lists, the types of engineering offered:

Merced: (none)
Riverside: chemical, computer, electrical, environmental, mechanical
Santa Barbara: chemical, computer, electrical, mechanical
Santa Cruz: computer, electrical

Santa Barbara

Well they are not great to be quite honest.

SAT: 1920 or 1300 (CR+M)
GPA Weighted: 3.6

Ive applied to CSU’s because of my average stats. I do understand these UC’s are reaches.

^ I would apply to Riverside (more of a safety option). Or, forget one of your other UCs and apply to Santa Barbara as well. Davis, Irvine and Santa Barbara are about the same level of admission standard.

Good luck!

P.S. Write a compelling admission essay. It is the most critical part of the UC application.

I’d have SC high on the list. There are many tech companies nearby allowing for internships and part time jobs. That work experience will influence permanent job offers more than a slightly higher ranked UC.
