What would you consider too much imagery?

<p>I’m writing the topic of your choice essay on the common app. Most of my essay consists of imagery and description. It has meaning, but it isn’t really direct and obvious. It requires some thinking. I describe the composition of my personality throughout the essay, but I never say I am ______. </p>

<p>So my question is, how long to the adcoms spend reading the essays? Will they take a minute to analyze/think about the meaning in my essay?</p>

<p>I don’t think they spend much time reading your essay at all. You probably shouldn’t say directly that you are a good student and that you really enjoy learning, but that should come through naturally in your essay. You don’t want your message to be really hidden.</p>
