What would you do? Caught in the middle!

So I applied to a Big Ten University, but unfortunately did not get accepted.

I am now at a smaller University, live at home with my parents, and am not too happy. I’ve never imagined myself to be at the school I am at right now, and I’m still trying to adjust to the idea. My grades are good though.

My dilemma is the following: if I stay at this school, I won’t have the social life that I would at the big university, and I feel as if there won’t be as many opportunities for me to succeed. (Everyone here is so undetermined and not motivated)

If I do apply and by a miracle, I get accepted, then I would risk ruining my GPA and not getting into a good grad school, possibly med school.

Should I try transferring? I am confident that I am smart and can do well, but I’m so very scared that the classes will be too difficult and my GPA will suffer.

If you are sticking within the same major, why would it be harder? The material is the material, although the depth that you take it may be deeper at the better school.

Apply. Your study skills have improved since you were in high school, and you will be happier.

Thank you for your guys’ input! I really appreciate it (:
