What Would You Like Right Now?

Spend time with my kids.

See people; do things…out of isolation.

Go on a vacation.

Have our country not be in crisis mode, and vote for new leadership.

I would love to instantly transport to see and hug relatives who just lost their adult son to decades of alcoholism.

1-To see our younger son and his family in Cincinnati.

2-A haircut! (I now have Bernie Sanders hair.)

Ice cream.

  • to see my kids and their families
  • to be back in better shape
  • a new administration

Things that are only a dream right now…
–A COVID vaccine
–My D being able to have her wedding as scheduled (at this point I’d take having it on the rescheduled date next year).
–Being together with my whole family.
–A new administration.
–A country free of racial discrimination and violence.
–A beach vacation (H and I had our first real vacation since our eldest started college (in 2008) planned for this summer right after D’s wedding).

Things that may actually happen to make today better…
–My H grilling so I don’t have to cook dinner.
–Videochats with my kids

By far the most important thing…
That my family and friends (including CC friends) stay safe and healthy.

A government that believes in and supports science.
Venture capitalists that don’t waste their money on another pyramid scheme or app and invest in medical advances instead.

For just today…because that is how I read the post. (Not for happiness in future or In general , etc.).

My DH to completely make dinner and clean it up. I don’t lift a finger. That would make me happy.

I want a relatively large private island in the tropics where I can build a community of people who share my thoughts of living together with tolerance and kindness. Anyone (race, gender, age, religion, etc) would be welcome as long as they met that basic bar. We’d need a diversity to build a nice community.

Those of us on the island also reserve the right to vote anyone off the island if they no longer lived the talk (or their offspring didn’t, etc).

And I want the island to be off the radar of major world powers so we could stay alone.

I’d like to stop worrying about the future of our country.

I want to be at a baseball game, and then come home and watch the Blues defend the Stanley cup.

I mean a corn hole tournament on ESPN is nice and stuff, but there is something about the competition and comradery of pro sports that lifts my spirits.

I want people to be polite, have decent manners and learn the art of respectful debate.

I want to walk into my local coffee/bakery and be able to smile at someone.

I want the house to myself sometimes! (But am grateful for husband and one kid living here, just need a break from company)

I want my kayak to arrive. (But lots of stuff that other people said too!)

I’m glued to the NASA channel. It’s just so hard to watch the news from cities all over.

I wish I had been in Boston this weekend, for grad school graduation. I haven’t seen my kids since October. They are moving by today, and I can’t be there to help or see their place.

I just had a patient session on my patio. That was fine. Still, I want a friend to come over, have food brought in and sit and drink outside. I haven’t seen any close friends nor family since early March .

^ Do you mean the client came to your house or you did your telesession outside? I’ve recently had clients choose to walk outside during our sessions, but they have been telesessions. Not comfortable having them come to my home.

I want to be able to see and hug my kids and grandkids.

I want to feel good about the direction our country is going.

I fear that neither will happen soon.

A family gathering. All of the kids, cousins, relatives ,

I want my father to test COVID negative so he can be out of the hospital and back in his assisted living.

I want my daughter to be able to be physically with her friends.

I want to be able to visit and hug my daughter.

To re-do my 60th birthday vacation.
I would love to see my kids IRL. We are having dinner together to celebrate D1’s birthday in few weeks.

I would love being able to see my siblings, nieces, nephews again in a nice family gathering. This hasn’t happened since dad’s 3/13 funeral and in our state I think 10 is the max # of people. Our clan is quite a bit larger than that.

I sure wish longer term our country could be kind to one another and more united in caring for one another—no racism, sexism, violence, theft.

I am grateful to have my kids both here with us instead of 2500/5000 miles away!
