What you did last Sunday?

Thank you.

Good luck to you.

question for all of you.

i did my NYU supplement in september because I thought i was applying early. now of course my response is dated, but does that really matter? it was the sunday I went to a rally and was involved with a lot of political stuff. would this be frowned upon or should i simply explain?

I don’t think thatnwould be frowned on because they come right out and say “or the Sunday before that, or before that” so they realize that you may choose to write about a Sunday well before recent events. Plus, if they’re really that curious, they can always look at the signature dates.

last sunday i went to a program called “special love holiday party” for kids with cancer and their families with my showchoir from school. no joke.

do you think that is “too corny” to write about, even though it is the truth?

How “corny” it ends up being depends on how you write it. If you write it with genuine enthusiasm, you should be okay. What you’re trying to show the adcom is a snapshot of your life, so it’s good if the weekend reflects you. For instance, my “last Sunday” (seeing the Blue Angels in SF with my dad and then having a fondue dinner for my eighteenth bday) showed that I’m close with my family, that I love food, and that I enjoy myself with my friends. Is singing a big commitment of yours, maybe something you look forward to continuing at NYU? You could tie that together.
