What you did last Sunday?

What kind of sick question is that?!
What did you people come up with? My Sundays are so uneventful. And how long does it have to be…? I’m confused.

It is a sick question. Nevertheless, it is also a good opportunity to make yourself stand out. I’m having a hard time remembering what I wrote about, but I’m sure it was…well…imaginative. Stick with the word limit and say as much as you mean in the least amount of words.

Do you ever volunteer or play sports or anything like that on Sundays? you could write about that

No.

sad face

I’m sure the adcom doesn’t expect you to do anything momentous…just write about something…

Whatever you do, don’t embellish. Just keep it simple and to the point. If something extraordinary happened, feel free to mention it; just don’t start including random $hit in there to make you look better.

Decision: Accepted!

lmao…

Did you really write that? And did you really watch Mad Money for 4 hours? That’s intense.

Come to think of it, I still haven’t started my college essay. gasp It’s so friggin’ hard to write about yourself! Ugggh. For example I had a perfect story that influenced me to be a doctor, expect that I decided not to do pre-med anymore.

Jim Cramer is a madman. His voice is so damn abrasive.

This was the easiest of the short answer questions for me. I just wrote what I actually did last Sunday, no frills.

and you were able to stretch it to 750 characters?

750 characters is nothing. I actually had to cut my answer down before I was able to submit it.

why is it that on my online app, I only had 500 char

That was actually one of my favorite short answers to write, but probably just because the answer came easily. I had actually just had a kick-ass Sunday a few weeks prior: I had a father-daughter bonding day in San Francisco, saw the Blue Angels (Army jets who do an awesome show, diving under the Golden Gate Bridge, etc.), and then went to a fondue restaurant for my eighteenth bday. :p

The one that initially stumped me was “besides New York, why NYU?” – it’s so hard to articulate exactly why I love a school…

My advice for that kind of question is to examine academic fit.

Thanks – I actually wrote it already, and I definitely included academic fit, as well as internships, ability to take different courses, etc.

But I’ll keep that in mind as I tackle the last few “why school x?” questions before I’m finally finished with this whole process :p

Ps. I’d appreciate feedback on that. haha

Don’t post your essay. You don’t want it flying around in public.
