What you did to get in! - Columbia Students 2012

I’m a high school junior and I want to go to Columbia on scholarship. I have a few questions and anyone who’d answer about themselves, I’d really appreciate.

AP or IB:
What courses:
Extracuricullars and how intensely focused you were in them:
Did you get scholarships:
If so, which ones:
What percentage of your tuition did they cover:

Hi QuietSilent!
I’m a high school junior as well! If you want to know more about the backgrounds of those who have been accepted to Columbia you should check out this thread :

There are others similar to it from previous years. As for scholarships, I believe Columbia usually gives financial aid due to demonstrated need rather than merit scholarships. You could probably find out more on Columbia’s official website (Columba.edu).
Hope this helps!

QS: when you go to the Columbia admissions pages, how do you interpret their direction on viable applicants’ course choices? ECs?

I’ll be blunt: the fact that you are asking shows that the level of achievement and excellence typical of Columbia admittees seems somewhat foreign to you and that doesn’t bode well.
