as an international student I am so interested in what my scores mean, since my school is not allocating me a GPA or rank. (just transcripts and SAT’s)

so I was doing a little research on the collegeboard and has anyone else looked at their research papers?

–a score of over 1600 detonates a GPA of 4.00 (yeah i know, bit of a joke)
–whites conistantly do better on the exam (as a demographic)
–the more money your parents earn generally the higher SAT score.

(personally, i have to say i think the SAT is a joke of an exam, not that its easy or hard, its just a ridiculous test)

Yes… those are facts inherent to any standardized test…

Those with better educational opportunities will score higher, this correlates more or less directly with parent income, environment, standard of living, etc…

But there is nothing you can do about it… these stats mean nothing about whether you get in or not… Its just about what you get. So good luck, and don’t read too much about into about “why the SAT is biased”, “how standardized testing is the biggest mistake in our education”- type of articles. Just makes your head hurt.
