The rain is currently pelting outside right now (glad I got a walk in earlier!) and it will be a mixed bag weather weekend. No “entertaining” on the docket. A week before the Super Bowl.
I sort of feel like I have 3 days in front of me with not a lot on my agenda. Which is not fully how I like it. :). I like an agenda even if that includes “read on the sunporch for an hour”.
I may take a little trip to a small town about 25 minutes away and do some thrifting/antiquing/coffee-bookstore browsing. Stop at Costco (woohoo!), maybe hit an estate sale. Bake some bread.
Inspire/motivate me - what’s on your agenda this weekend??
Tonight is pizza and a movie at home. Tomorrow morning I am helping D2 with some errands. Hopefully a walk to the beach in the afternoon with H. Sunday night is pickleball.
Not much, except older S/FDIL are coming into town to spend the night Saturday night-Sunday morning. So we are looking forward to having them and going out to eat.
We’re in another atmospheric river and the rain just started this morning. Most of my plans for the weekend involved being outdoors (dragon boating on Saturday then on Sunday I was planning to attend an outdoor rehearsal for the San Francisco Lunar New Year parade which is coming up in early February). I’m still hoping to salvage some of these plans depending on the rain patterns - I’ve got my eye on the hourly forecast.
D is going to stop by home on Saturday afternoon after work and we are planning to watch Brokeback Mountain which she has been assigned for one of her classes - we figured we’d make some popcorn and watch it together to make the assignment a little more fun If the rain doesn’t cooperate, however, I may be watching a lot of movies this weekend…
Tomorrow morning I’m headed to my S and his partner’s house to catsit for a week while they ski. It’s an adorable cottage with a lake thirty feet from their back door. Looking forward to lots of walks when the weather allows, a lot of reading and writing, and kitty snuggles (maybe–I’m probably her third favorite person since I’ve watched her before a number of times, though never at the new house or overnight, and it’s a very distant third…).
Our warm weather is supposed to last through the weekend so I’ll be walking! I am going to an author talk at a local independent bookstore tomorrow (and I have a gift card there…). GD and granddog may/or may not spend the night on Saturday.
H has colonoscopy scheduled on Monday. So do not ask him what he is doing on Sunday!
This weekend we’re going on a Scenic River cruise to Vietnam and Cambodia, adding on a couple of days in Singapore on our own. Started the day right by getting upgraded on a 11+30 hr flight, so things are going well already. It’s going to be cold in Seattle and hot where we’re going, so it’s a good time to get out of here!
We winterized everything that needed to be and covered our outdoor faucets, too, so fingers crossed we did enough. Good luck to you! But now I noticed that they changed the forecast, so maybe it won’t be bitterly cold.
I feel your pain! 1 month ago I was facing the same (different wedding anniversary number, but otherwise same situation.) It was going better than I had predicted it would…until on the last day when I broke my foot on the resort beach. Now stuck at home when not being driven somewhere by my spouse. Send me a martini!
Nothing too exciting, but a busy weekend. Tonight dinner with friends, tomorrow morning long walk and brunch with another friend, and then Sunday another friend coming for dinner. Sunday morning I will do my skills and drills pickleball class.
After a long week at work and some cold and raw weather today, I was chatting with a co-worker that this is the first weekend in a long time that I don’t have any plans and I’m just going to put on some pajamas as soon as I walk through the door and spend the entire weekend reading and crocheting.
All of my co-workers are younger than I am and I feel like I totally outted myself as an old lady.
Enjoying my Christmas present from dh, weekend in NYC. Saw Harry Connick Jr at the Met last night. Doing all Cole Porter tunes. Thought it was a great show. Today a museum or two. Tonight a nice dinner.
I was scheduled to attend a Chinese New Year event at the Museum of Chinese in America but decided against leaving my apartment early enough to get there in time. At 4pm I will attend my regular Spanish-English meetup in a neighborhood full of immigrants. Hoping for the best for us all.
