Whatcha Doing This Weekend, August 28-30

We try and do a socially distanced cocktail hour (usually turns into 2 hours) every weekend, with two to four people.

Yesterday, got H to make a first go round at cleaning the garage. In his mind, it’s cleaned out. In my mind, not so much. But it’s a start. I knew he wanted to get back to watching golf.
Today, normal Saturday routine of updating my Quicken, paying bills, general attack on my paperwork pile; watching 3rd round of golf, and if smoky air not too bad, will go walk our 3 mile loop.

Tomorrow, starting my prep for Monday colonoscopy- ugh. No cooking for me though! And the final round of BMW.

We’re celebrating H’s birthday with a cookout at my D’s house. 6 month old granddaughter just started crawling so I think she’ll be the entertainment. S & his girlfriend will also be here for the weekend and will stay for several days next week. They need a change of WFH scenery.

We just received a text from city hall informing us that we are under an extreme heat warning, so nothing outside for us this weekend. We need to dig up a sprinkler box and figure out what’s wrong, but that can wait until Tuesday when it’s predicted to be cooler.

Had Zoom happy hour with my sister and BIL last night, and we do one with husband’s family every Sunday. That’s about the extent of our social lives these days.

Today, I made waffles, eggs & fruit for breakfast (I use the waffle recipe on the side of the TJ buttermilk carton) Puttered around in the garden for a bit. now I’m lying on the couch

I’ wrestling with the idea of taking my S on a mini road trip before he starts back to Uni.; he’s been stuck at home with us for six months, but I confess, I’m scared to go outside of my little 5 mile bubble!

Just returned home from a week of camping this afternoon. The worse part of any camp trip is the clean up and laundry once we get home. I’ve got laundry started and I’m relaxing having a June Shine hard kombucha. I still have to clean the trailer and empty some of the food cupboards but I’m done for the day. Sent H out for burgers.
Sunday is an informal memorial at the beach for a good friend who passed away. We don’t think it’s the best idea as it seems like it’s getting to be a lot of people. We already did a small celebration of life with a paddle out last Saturday With his family before we left for our trip and feel it’s enough already. I’ve been assigned a salad for 8 people for a small dinner group. I’m not sure now I’m going to handle it. I might just put a amount for my H and myself in a separate container and let the others take their own Covid risks. The organizers have told people to come in masks. We will see how it is and leave early if not comfortable or walk a bit down the sand.

Updated post. I got rained out both from playing and coaching.
But I got the gear for coaches all organized and set out in the driveway.

Tomorrow is laundry, coaching and margaritas
