What's a financial aid interview?

So I clicked yes just to be safe and I’ve already submitted all the documents but what’s this?

“On Sunday, the Office of Admission will be conducting financial aid interviews from 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Each appointment will last approximately 20 minutes. Before you can be scheduled for an interview, students must have submitted the FAFSA, the Carnegie Mellon Financial Aid Application, 1040s and W2s. All students will be scheduled for an interview unless advised otherwise. There will also be a Financial Aid presentation at 1:10 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. For any questions, please contact one of the Celebration of Diversity Coordinators.”

Because now I’m a bit worried that if I screw it up they’ll be like “no money for you!”

Where did you see this?

After registering for the Celebration of Diversity weekend. And on the card it’s like “1:30 Financial Aid Interviews”.

@ lucky

just curious…how did you register for that?
I thought it was over already?

Nah, the new one in April for accepted diverse students. I just registered at: [Celebration of Diversity](http://www.cmu.edu/ntia/cod/), it was on a little booklet inside the fat letter with the pittsburgh junk.

I even already did the phone call to get my plane tickets. Love the free stuff CMU gives on the visits.

My teacher was saying it has to do with asking about my moms’ work, to mention the 0 EFC, to mention not wanting loans, to mention possibly getting the Gates. She said just answer questions honestly, I don’t need to lie, we are poor so whatever.
