<p>Your question is very ambiguous but I shall try to answer it. </p>
<p>GPA rating depends on the school you come from. many of the top schools classify engineering cum laude as having a gpa higher than 3.2. 3.5 for magna and 3.8 for summa cum laude.</p>
<p>In my opinion if youre from a top 10 engineering school anything higher than a 3.2/3.3 is considered respectable. However if youre shooting for a top 5 grad program for your masters and by this i mean the likes of MIT, stanford, berkeley etc. you need to have at least a 3.7 in my opinion. </p>
<p>There are so many factors that count towards admission though. Also depends if youre looking for an M Eng which is a terminal masters degree or whether you want an MS which is research based and leads to a PhD.</p>
