What's a good Junior year schedule?

It’s said that junior year is your most important year for colleges, a point certainly not hammered in by my somewhat incompetent counselors. So what is a good schedule for junior year.

My plan is

Adv. French 3
Adv. Physics
AP English Composition
AP US History
Dual Credit (with local university) Humanities (Humanities class is a state requirement)
Hon. Pre-Cal.

Good schedule? Will it be to painful, based of people’s experiences?

I like it. Don’t be stuck in 6 APs like me and slack off…

I think 2 will be good, but the difference here is that I took Pre-Calc in my Freshmen year. But, again, it’s a decent schedule and you’ll be good to go! Enjoy it, bud!

Well according to you, all you need is a 3.0!

My D just did her junior schedule: APUSH, AP Lang, H pre-calc, H physics, AP Chem, and AP Art History (the AP chem and AP art history are her electives, as we don’t have many electives to choose from that aren’t P.E., Voc-Ed, or fine arts.) Her H chem teacher tried to push her to skip the H physics and go straight to the AP physics. D says she’s not totally crazy.

Zebes

No, I didn’t say that. I said if you got a 3.0 for one semester, had had a 4.0 before that, and still had a cumulative GPA of 3.7, your life was not over, especially if you aren’t applying to HYP.

I apologize if what I said wasn’t clear to you, but other people understood.

It depends totally on your school. Is that a tough courseload for your school? If so, then it is fine. If not, consider bumping it up a notch–but don’t think that you have to be in all AP’s to be competitive. It’s not true–every school is different. This was the “typical” (if you want to call it that) most demanding junior year schedule for my school, and is what I took:

Hon. Physics
German III (no honors/adv. foreign language until AP)
AP US
AP BC Calc (or Hon. Precalc for less math orientated kids)
AP English Language
[an elective…band in my case]

A few kids took 4 AP’s, but that is not necessary at my school to be considered a most demading schedule.
