<p>Oh to clarify I mean to get a trustworthy (like the person knows about the college admin process) but neutral (like the person doesn’t know you personally)? Besides posting online here…I’m paranoid about that.</p>
<p>Your English teacher is always the best they are neutral even if they know you. My D usually lets hers read her essay as she values his input. They help you bainstorm</p>
<p>Teachers often don’t have the time to put in really going over an essay. They have classes to prepare, recommendations to write, etc. I once read essays for one student that two teachers had read (one who remarked, “Best I’ve seen this year”)–the essay was trash, right from the first paragraph, in my opinion. I’d pick someone who knows you and is a good writer–do you or your parents have any lawyer or writer friends?</p>
<p>A friend who is a good writer (and has already been accepted to their #1 school, so he/she has time to read and comment on your essay) can be a good choice.</p>
