Whats a "Vertex" and "Edge"?

What’s the diff btw a vertex adn an edge! I tried looking it up at google but no help! thank you :)

An edge is the side of a shape.

A vertex is the intersection of 2 edges in a shape.

ie (a cube has 12 edges, and 8 vertices)

uhh haha…

vertexes are sharp points in a shape.
edges are sides in a shape.

no, I think faces are sides on a shape edges are intersection of two faces, vertex is anything pointy, for example a right circular cone there is a circular face and a conical one, an edge running around the circle and one vertex on the top.

could you specify the example where you’ve seen it, or something?

oh crap, yeah i’m wrong.

in my head i was visualizing a 2d octagon, where edges are faces. forgot that they mean different things in 3d shapes…
