What's an eli paper?

A bunch of you have mentioned the eli paper…I have no idea what it is. Can anyone let me know what it is?

where in iowa are you from?

Probably the paper they mail you with your eli account info (password, ID)

it’s a blue paper

West Des Moines…it’s a suburb of Des Moines…the capital…in central Iowa. Most of Iowa is pretty rural, but Des Moines and West Des Moines certainly aren’t, and there’s plenty out here. But I really want to get out of Iowa to see what else is out there. I have never been to the New England states. Hopefully, I get in SCEA and can visit in January!!!

do you want to meet sometime?..i’m from des moines

zackalacka87…uuuummm. Which school do you attend? Did you go to the Yale info. meeting at Central Academy earlier this fall…the one directed by Chris Hanson?

zackalacka87~ Why are you lying about where you’re from? I just read a Harvard thread, and you said you were from rural Missouri! Come on! You’re creeping me out!

now you’re from upstate New York, too? You’re messing around way too much on this site! :(

zackalacka87~I can only hope you were more honest on your application.

OK, sorry again. (See Iowa hopefuls thread) Your situation is definitely different than mine; I didn’t know, and I was being insensitive.

What an interesting thread…!

Anyway, so an Eli account is… an account on the Yale server to see your admission status or something?

theoneo
The Eli account is the way you access your admissions decision on december 16. I’m not sure if it tracks your application status.

zackalacka87~oh, and about your second question on this thread…let me know if you get in come December. Is Yale definitely your first choice? If we both get in, then it would be great to meet a fellow Yalie prior to fall. I’m not counting on getting in though. It would be amazing, and I think I would really thrive at Yale and contribute to the community, but I don’t know what the adcoms will decide. Plus, I only sent my ACT scores, so this might be frowned upon. Anyway, let me know…it’s nice to talk to a fellow Iowan (or part time Iowan, anyway  ) about Yale and all this college craziness. I don’t know of anyone at my school who is applying to Yale, so I’m kind of left to myself on all this. So, good luck! What happens happens. :)

wow, you’re lucky you’re not competing with anyone from a school like valley, i’d expect a lot to be applying to the ivies from there…anyway, im applying to princeton ed, i’ll apply to yale if im deferred in december

Well, I’m not sure… I just don’t know of anyone applying. At least SCEA. Too bad you’re applying to princeton. J/k I never took the SAT subject tests (well, I did take chem) but not two or three or whatever is required, so I can’t apply. This may have been a mistake. Oh well.

That’s pretty bold applying ED. I didn’t want to apply ED anywhere because you can get stuck with a crummy financial aid package. But if you picture yourself happiest there, then that’s really great, and ED is for you.

money’s not really an issue… so im not worried about being able to afford a princeton education; my dad’s a multimillionaire out of cape girardeau, mo…but i have to live with my mom half the year too…and yeah, i can definitely see myself very satisfied at princeton…maybe you ought to apply…

p.s. are you hot? if you’re a swimmer, you’ve got to have a decent bod…so im just wondering, lol

You’re crazy…jk. And I don’t feel as sorry for you anymore. Anyway, I can’t apply to Princeton bc I was stupid and only took one SAT subject test.
It was an okay article…swimming is so awesome! had to say that again.
