What's considered "academic excellence"?

I’m not sure whether or not to check off for the “Student who has demonstrated academic excellence as well as leadership in extracurricular activities” scholarship. I have leadership in ECs, 33 ACT, 3.7 UW 4.6 W w/ rigorous courses. I know my GPA is low, but I’m not sure what their “standards” are, if that makes sense. Do I check it off or leave it?

If your courses are rigorous, tick the box. Only on CC is that not automatically considered excellent.

You’re fine.

Off topic, but I wanted to address a previous concern of yours:

I really want to dedicate my career to expanding my medical knowledge and helping others because I have a passion for the field, but my family is pressuring me to go to dental school instead. Their logic for this is that dentistry is easier and has more flexible hours & that I'm apparently incapable of the time and effort medical school takes up

Do you realize that as an incoming frosh, it won’t make much/any difference? You can be “pre-dental,” and still take the premed prereqs. There isn’t a major that is “premed,” so your parents won’t complain if while you’re doing “predental”, you’re also doing “premed”. Then, by the time you’re a junior, you’ll be able to plead your case based on your college performance…rather than your HS performance which they’re judging you by now.
